Dana Peebles is an emerging textile artist who has been exploring the use of textiles as a tool to create community and viewer engagement. To this end, she created an interactive installation consisting of 24 appliqued, embroidered, and beaded flower images adapted from a traditional quilting block format based on Victorian and Japanese hanakotoba floral coding systems.
This deck of cards is a miniature version of the full suite of flower images and their meanings.
