MANIFESTO FESTIVAL
Regional Archive provided Coordination and Project Management support for the Toronto Art Map project - part of the 2009 Manifesto Festival of Community and Culture.
The Toronto Art Map was created by artists representing each of Toronto’s forty-four wards. Ranging from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds, each artist was given a slab of wood shaped like their particular ward, and given free reign to transform it as they desired. Once the pieces were completed, the pieces were pieced together to create a collaborative art piece that was presented in the City Hall Rotunda for the duration of the festival. Post-festival the pieces were given to each councillor as a representation of the vibrancy of art within the city.
